Congress MP launches X poll on proposed Rahul Gandhi-Modi debate

A Congress MP has launched a poll on X asking whether there should be a debate between Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while urging the BJP to make such an event possible.

The move followed Gandhi’s challenge to Modi for an open debate over allegations that he became prime minister with foreign help. Gandhi renewed the challenge after saying 24 hours had passed without a response.

The dispute began after Modi’s Ekta Diwas speech, in which he described the opposition as an obstructionist force. Gandhi responded to the remarks by challenging the prime minister to debate him.

Home Minister Amit Shah said the government was prepared to discuss all issues, including SIR and electronic voting machines, in a special session of Parliament.
