Odisha Police arrest 470 in pre-festival gambling crackdown

Police in Odisha have arrested 470 individuals during a sweeping, two-day crackdown on illegal gambling operations ahead of the Kumar Purnima festival. The coordinated raids targeted numerous illicit dens across the Ganjam and Berhampur areas.

During the extensive operation, officers dismantled multiple gambling sites and confiscated more than ₹12.65 lakh in cash.

Authorities have issued a firm warning that strict enforcement actions against betting activities will continue in the region.
