Magnitude 5.1 earthquake recorded near Andaman and Nicobar Islands

An earthquake with a recorded magnitude of 5.1 struck near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Thursday.

Seismic measurements placed the location of the event roughly 218 kilometers to the north-northwest of Bamboo Flat.

Indications of the tremor's strength varied slightly during the recording process, with the earthquake also being measured at a magnitude of 5.0.
