India Make Two Changes for Final T20I Against New Zealand as Sooryavanshi Remains Benched
NEW DELHI PSqure Daily Correspondent
New Zealand elected to field first in the fifth and final T20I at Seddon Park in Hamilton, with India making two alterations to their playing XI for the dead rubber. Seasoned fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar returns to the side, and Varun Chakaravarthy makes his first appearance of the tour. The duo replaces Axar Patel and Mayank Yadav. The hosts also made a single adjustment, bringing in Blair Tickner for Matt Fisher.
Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi remains on the bench for the visitors. He has featured in just two matches during the five-game contest, having temporarily entered the lineup while Ishan Kishan was sidelined with an injury. India entered the Hamilton fixture holding an unassailable 3-1 series lead, having secured the first three victories before New Zealand rebounded with an 87-run win in the fourth match.
Early action in the Indian innings saw the cheap dismissals of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson. However, the visitors quickly recovered as Kishan raced to a half-century off 29 deliveries, supported by Shreyas Iyer who dealt in regular boundaries.
