New Zealand claim fourth T20I by 87 runs as Reddy records expensive spell
NEW DELHI PSqure Daily Correspondent
New Zealand secured their first victory of the current Twenty20 International series against India with a dominant 87-run win in the fourth match. The result narrows India's series lead to 3-1, in a game that saw Indian bowler Nitish Reddy record one of the most expensive spells in the nation's T20I history.
Setting an imposing target of 259 runs, New Zealand were bolstered by a half-century from Glenn Phillips. India's bowling attack struggled, with Reddy conceding 64 runs to become the second-most expensive Indian bowler in the format. India faltered in their chase, managing only 172 runs.
The encounter also marked a historic milestone for Mitchell Santner. The New Zealand bowler took two wickets during the match, elevating his career tally to 150 T20I dismissals. With these two scalps, Santner became the all-time leading wicket-taker against India in Twenty20 internationals, reaching a total of 32 dismissals against the side.
