Defeated Brazilian candidate Flávio Bolsonaro lands in Miami after securing US visa
LONDON PSqure Daily Correspondent
Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and his family arrived in Miami on Wednesday, October 28, after securing entry to the United States. The State Department confirmed on Tuesday that it would issue visas allowing the family to enter the country.
The departure from Brazil follows a tense 48-hour period during which Bolsonaro refused to concede the election to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Rather than accepting the defeat, the senator threatened to try to annul the election results.
His decision to flee was apparently not communicated to his political team. The senator's former campaign manager stated that he was not informed of Bolsonaro's plan to leave the country.
