US issues visas for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and family following election defeat

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and his family have landed in the United States, just days after an election defeat, following the approval of State Department visas. The diplomatic authorization granted the family formal permission to cross the border and enter the country.

The sudden relocation appears to have been organized without the knowledge of key political allies. According to the senator's former campaign manager, he received no advance warning regarding the lawmaker's intention to flee Brazil.
