Citizens for Justice and Peace founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained by Delhi Police on Friday as he travelled to participate in the organisation's 'Lehra Do Tiranga' yatra at Central Park in Connaught Place — marking his second detention within a single week amid an ongoing anti-Election Commission agitation.

Police announced that Dipke would be produced before a special executive magistrate at Mandir Marg police station at noon. Authorities also indicated they intended to file between seven and eight first information reports in connection with the protests. All India Students Association chief Neha Bora, who had also been held, was released after authorities completed the required detention formalities under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.

Separately, three CJP activists were detained in Rajasthan before they could travel to Delhi to join the demonstration, a move condemned by the People's Union for Civil Liberties as an unlawful restriction on the movement of activists.

A day after the 'Lehra Do Tiranga' protest drew roughly 2,000 participants, Delhi Police maintained a heavy security presence across central Delhi, with heightened deployments at Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place and several key government offices in anticipation of further demonstrations.
