Rahul Gandhi is set to lead a rally in Delhi on November 1, bringing citizens together to protest what the Congress party describes as systematic vote theft, including inaccuracies in electoral rolls and the manner in which complainants are handled by authorities.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has raised objections to the chosen date, noting its proximity to the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Several civic bodies have also voiced disapproval, among them Delhi's Chamber of Trade and Industry.

Gandhi appeared unfazed by the criticism, taking a swipe at the ruling party by thanking the BJP for what he characterised as free promotion of the event. Congress has framed the rally as a necessary call to action over the integrity of the democratic process ahead of future elections in the national capital.
