Third-ranked Miami defeated Florida State 43-35 in double overtime on Saturday night, surviving one of the most dramatic finishes of the college football season to claim victory in a fiercely contested rivalry match.

Quarterback Darian Mensah was the driving force behind Miami's win, passing for 326 yards and three touchdowns as the Hurricanes withstood enormous pressure to hold on through two periods of extra time.

Florida State twice attempted to snatch a miraculous victory through Hail Mary passes, but both efforts came to nothing, leaving the Seminoles without answers against a Miami side that refused to buckle under the weight of the occasion.
