Brown says Tatum has 'hell of a PR team' as former Celtics teammates deny feud

Jaylen Brown's pointed remarks about Jayson Tatum follow the latter's attempts to dismiss talk of tension since their summer split.

Jaylen Brown has taken a fresh swipe at former Boston Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum, saying the star forward has a "hell of a PR team", even as both players publicly deny any serious falling-out between them.

The remarks came after Tatum devoted much of a postgame news conference to playing down speculation about the state of their relationship following Brown's trade to the Philadelphia 76ers over the summer. Tatum was keen to stress the situation bore no resemblance to the well-documented rivalry between Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

Brown, now settled in Philadelphia, stopped short of declaring outright hostility, insisting there is no beef. However, he added that Tatum should "stay ready at all times" — a phrase unlikely to be read as a warm endorsement of his former running mate.

The exchange marks the latest chapter in what has become one of the more closely watched interpersonal storylines in the NBA this season.
