Rays select Nick Martinez over ace Drew Rasmussen for World Series Game 1

The Rays have finalized their pitching strategy for the opening matchup of the World Series against the Brewers. In an unexpected move, Nick Martinez has been chosen to take the mound to begin the series.

Martinez will step into the starting role for Game 1 instead of Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen operates as the staff ace for the Rays, making the decision to bypass him for Martinez a notable shift from expectations for the opening contest.
