Jaskaran has booked a bronze medal bout at the Under-23 Wrestling World Championships after a commanding run through the 65kg freestyle category, capping his campaign with a 6-3 victory over American wrestler Bowen William Bassett in the quarterfinals.

The young Indian grappler was in dominant form on his way to the last four, registering two wins by technical superiority before he was forced to work harder against Bassett, ultimately edging through with a three-point margin to secure his place in the bronze medal contest.

Jaskaran was not the only Indian wrestler to reach the medal rounds at the tournament, with Chandermohan also advancing to a bronze medal bout. The pair's progress underlines a strong showing for India at the under-23 level on the global stage.

A bronze medal for Jaskaran would represent a significant achievement at the U23 World Championships, one of the most competitive age-group wrestling tournaments in the world. His ability to close out tight bouts, as demonstrated against Bassett, will give him confidence heading into the medal match.
