Ramirez homer powers Guardians past White Sox to force decisive Game 5
José Ramírez hit a go-ahead home run and drove in three runs as Cleveland beat Chicago 9-5 to set up a winner-take-all decider.
José Ramírez delivered another clutch performance Thursday night, launching a home run and collecting three RBIs to lead the Cleveland Guardians to a 9-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox and force a decisive Game 5 in their American League Division Series.
Ramírez's latest postseason heroics ensured Cleveland would live to fight another day, with the two sides now set to meet in a winner-take-all contest that will determine which team advances in the playoffs.
The Guardians' nine-run showing proved more than enough to overcome Chicago, whose five runs left them unable to keep pace with Cleveland's offence on a pivotal evening.
